PCLMagic TTY Text Driver

This is a utility that helps insert text characters into a PCL print stream.

This PageTech PCLMagic text driver is included with PCLTool SDK. It helps embed searchable text into the PCL print stream before the printer driver generates it. All the original text is saved in its original searchable character set in Unicode and UTF-8 codes. Windows printer drivers normally "scramble" the text within the print stream. This gives developers an easier means to capture text in any language and extract it later downstream for file-splitting, auto-indexing, converting to fully text-searchable PDF`s or re-purposing into TransPromo documents. With this PCLMagic Printer Driver combined with the PCLTool Software Development Kit (SDK), developers and OEM`s can build state-of-the-art, high-volume document management systems that are easy to customize and deploy. This tool is ideal for dumping UTF-8 text from Chinese, Japanese and Korean language documents.

 

This TTY text driver is included with all the options of the SDK product. You have both monochrome (PCL5e) and color (PCL5c) versions available. The Port Monitor can capture data from the Print Manager insert them into the print stream as PJL comments. That is an indicator to let the transformation tools to know who generated the print file. The Port Monitor includes an optional PMIndexer dialog for users to add keywords, routing or other data into the print stream. These are treated as PJL comments for extraction later downstream. The port monitor and the HotDir folder watch programs are useful resources for developers. It is compatible with Windows platform and is a very good program.
